A rare find, Bak Kut Teh place in Pontianak. Located at the residential house near Jl. Purnama. I ordered the Bak Kut Teh Ginseng Regular + Tim Ayam Kampung Ginseng Herbal (with Chinese wine upon request) + Ginseng Tea + half rice. Bak Kut Teh is perfectly cooked, meat is tender, fall off the bones when you pull it, and the soup is darker and thicker type - not the peppery type, savoury, mild sweetness with slight bitterness from the ginseng. A bulb of garlic added to the aromatic, intense taste when you suck the garlic whole. Tim Ayam Kampung Ginseng also perfectly steamed. Meat is tender and lightly seasoned. The soup is refreshing and light, easy on the tongue. But my face added a shade of red after I finished the chicken soup laced with Chinese wine. Home cooked gem indeed, hidden away at the corner of the Pontianak city. The owners (husband and wife) are very friendly. Definitely will be back to taste more of the food here. Especially the kacang ma, and off the menu selections (you have to ask the owners).

If "Hidden Gem" is a word to describe something unusual, yet truly worth your time, this is the best place to take your lunch. The dish will surely justify my rating Biasanya, Bak Kut Tea/Rou Guo Cha (Teh Daging Rendam) itu pakai daging Babi. Tapi Ny. Cinda juga membuat versi halal, dengan dapur, alat, tempat makan, dan bahannya juga terpisah sehingga sobat2 Muslim bisa mencoba resep andalannya. Jadilah Chick Kut Tea, yaitu Ayam Rendam Teh. Isi dari potnya ini akar Ginseng, biji-bijian, dan Bawang putih yang udah ditim lamaa (>3 jam). Enak, rekomen sekali 10/10
